There is a separate open-plan kitchen and dining room so that children can see the chef preparing meals. Children eat in a calm environment whereby table manners and etiquette can be taught with the minimum of fuss. The nursery nurses sit down with their children at mealtimes to promote social development and a family atmosphere. It is an important time to help establish an awareness and understanding of good practice regarding eating, enjoyment of food and a positive sense of well-being.
All our food is organic where possible and freshly prepared on the premises with no unnecessary additives or preservatives used. Menus are planned on a two weekly basis and a daily menu is displayed in the Entrance Hall, a vegetarian or special dietary option is available. We introduce many foods from a wide variety of cultures. During the day the children can have breakfast, two snacks, lunch and tea depending upon their time at nursery. We serve a minimum of 5 fruits and vegetables per day.
